On This Day IX – It’s Not Easy
On this day I want to understand it is NOT easy…
I would like to say it is easy. The truth, following the Word and serving Christ is not. Many preachers like to put it in a way that is enticing to the ear and the mind hiding the essence of suffering, submission, self denial, sometimes solitude; and the daily needed task to seek more of God’s presence in our lives in order to be able to continue. It hurts my heart when people come to Christ through those preachings that entice the senses, but rarely touch the heart. They come to Christ thinking is just accepting Him as your Saviour and that is all. They are just left in that thought that all my problems will be resolved, and I can keep doing what I want to do. Unfortunately, reality hits them hard confronted with the frustration of things not being as the preacher said, “easy.” They do not understand why everything did not get better. It is that frustration that drills in those that have been entized, but not converted. Yes, enticed. Enticed by an idea of a better life without sacrifice. Not converted because they continue doing the things that they did before without bringing forth Fruit of the Spirit in their lives. That drilling frustration provokes discorougement that eventually causes them just to give up. These preachers are spreading the seed in a way the enemy has absolute access to take it away because is not grounded on the Word; is grounded on a lie. We are called to spread the Word with diligence and truth. We need to realize that around us there are people who want Christ in their lives, but just do not know how to get to Him. They need to be guided through the Word in order to help them understand, and not let the enemy take advantage.
Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you willhave tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:31-33
Today, if you have been one of those that have heard the “easy” gospel and have gone through that frustration of not understanding why nothing gets solved, why I am not able to walk the path of Christ with liberty understand that it is not over. YOU still can enter into a wonderful relationship with Him, Christ died for you. God never will leave you. He will strengthen you. He will guide you. You have to trust Him. In John 16:33, Christ Himself affirms the reality of tribulation in this life, but has also told us that He overcame the world. That is not a future action, but a wonderful affirmation of what HAS been done. It will not be easy, but I can truly assure you that it will be worth more than gold if you make the decision of submitting your life to Him. You will recieve eternal life if you persevere till the end. This reward IS worth it.
