Prayer Is What You Need

On This Day: Hide In His Presence

But He Himself withdrew [in retirement] to the wilderness (desert) and prayed. (‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ AMP)

God brought this passage to my heart for the Sunday service this past week. When I came across it the revelation within confronted me in a deep way.  It brought me to question my walk with God and my position in my intimacy with Him.
Was I taking the time as Jesus did to withdraw myself from everyday things to be with Him? Or have I let distractions and people take my focus from seeking what is unperishable and eternal? It didn’t take me long to find the answer. I just had to examine my attitudes, decisions and behaviors. They said alot.
I don’t know about you, but doesn’t it feel our lives are so overwhelmed by things, events and others that our intimacy with God gets hindered?
Jesus faced this challenge too! He was well known and followed by so many. Even in the midst of this He realized He needed time to be alone with God. It says that He himself – that shows a decision that Jesus made. It was not something based on feelings, but on the understanding of the need of replenishment of the presence of God in his life. Jesus, being the Son of God in flesh understood that for him to continue clinging to God He needed to be in His presence.  Without spiritual replenishment in intimacy with God we can not survive the fight against the snares of the enemy. It is the time we take to be alone to fast and pray to God where our flesh is submitted to the spirit. We get prepared and stregthened spiritually.
Do you ever think about the last time you took aside to be ALONE with God?
When was the last time you seperated yourself from all the wordly situations to go boldly to the Throne of Grace and ask God to fill you?
We are living in times where the enemy brings to our lives more and more ways to distract us from seperating ourselves to be with God.
On this day make the decision to take time to be alone with God. I can assure you will not be the same.
God bless you! Y.R.

On This Day 28 – Just Pray

We go through so many things. In many of them feel so overwhelmed, anxious and just plain disturbed in our mind and hearts. When those moments arise is like our mind goes blank on what we are supposed to do. We think about everything thats wrong and how is affecting our life, but we just don’t seem to find the way to get through it. The simple answer lies in the reality of where our focus is. If our focus, even in the middle of the caos and disturbance, is Christ we have a surety inside our soul that we are not going through it alone. When our focus shifts from Christ to what we have encountered it becomes a rollercoaster of emotions that sometimes are so incontrolable even to the most spiritual Christian. What could we do in those circumstances we face that seem so impossible to bare? The answer lies in one word, Pray. This praying is not the one that you will hear from a pulpit with the elegant words. It is the prayer of supplication, rendition and need that comes from the deepness of your soul to the only one, the Almighty God, that can help you in this situation. It is not a prayer of quantity of words, but of a full trust in Whom is faithful.

On this day things maybe overwhelming and uncertain, but in the middle of thing know that prayer is the most powerful weapon to overcome any situation. Today pray knowing that God is there to listen.

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

In the midst of verses I try to find
Some answers to the action which arise

Not much to say, a lot to think
I ponder much on what I did

It may have been good in some eyes
To others more come as a surprise

I prayed for whom I did not know
Just acted on direction from Above

The look in their eyes was not much
But at the question, “May I pray for you?” They lit up

The boldness needed to do this approach
Was not easy to find, I just say from Above

To go up to someone in pain to offer life
Not knowing the situation just trusting The Holy Spirit inside

And when finish, the Amen sound
Tears in their eyes gave confirmation abound

That I may not know what’s going on
But our Heavenly Father knows it all

If I just trust Him acting on faith I shall see
A change in a life through the love shown come to be

My call is to serve no matter what
He knows the need; I just need to act

I want us to think about this tragic event. Pray for the people injured, lost and harmed and their families. The times we are living are not getting better. We have to be prepared and cling more to God than ever. More than ever prayer has to be our best weapon to use. My prayer goes to all of Boston. This is another event that did not hurt individuals but it has shaken the nation. May God give strength to all.
